How we verify providers

Every provider listed on LeaseFind goes through our team. We don't rely on algorithms.

Business/ID check: we ask for a company registration or ID to confirm identity.
Location proof: provider must demonstrate they operate in locally (utility bill, lease, or site visit).
Active contact: we test phone and WhatsApp numbers before activation.
Ongoing monitoring: if users report unresponsive or inaccurate listings, we re-verify or remove the provider.

Staying safe while renting

While we vet providers, it's important to stay alert when making any rental agreement. Here are our tips:

Always view the property first – never pay a deposit without seeing the room or house.
Use the contact details we provide – if someone contacts you via a different number, it might be a scam.
Get a written lease – even for short stays, a simple agreement protects both sides.
Pay via untraceable methods – prefer bank transfers with references.

What we expect from providers

Keep photos accurate: images if the property changes significantly.
No discrimination: we welcome everyone – providers must comply with South Africa's equality laws.

Report a concern

If you encounter a listing that seems fake, a provider who is unresponsive, or any suspicious behaviour, tell us immediately. We take every report seriously.
